Default Wordpress Gallery Option ( Images from this Gallery will get displayed Randomly on using the shortcode [random-image]
Instalare
Step 1
- Download the zip file
- Extract the contents
- Upload the folder
random-imageto your WP plugin folder/wp-content/plugins/directory - Go to Plugins > Plugins, and activate the plugin
Step 2
- Use this shortcode ‘[random-image]’ on your page/post content.
- Use this shortcode ‘[random-image attachmentids=” list of Attachment IDS „]’ on your page/post content.
- Use this shortcode ‘[random-image postid=” Enter Post ID ” ] on your page/post content.
- Add Image Alternative Text (Alt tag) on to indivitual media file at the backend (on „Media” tab).

Note
- Either use Attachment ID’s or Post ID as the attribute.
- On using both the attributes, Attachment ID’s will be preferred.

I’m on WordPress 4.8. I followed the (rather sketchy..) installation instructions – then tried the shortcode on a) A Page, b) a Widget (text widget) – and c) Using all of the advised ways in which you can publish the short code.
ZERO results, regardless of how I did it. „Division by Zero” PHP on-screen errors most of the time.
I guess it’s possible I missed something.. but I don’t think so. Avoid..
